Posture Brace and Why correct posture is important

Do you remember you mom telling you time and again to sit straight? And how you always used to neglect her advice? Guess what, she was right. Good posture for sitting, standing or even sleeping helps improve the health and flexibility of your back. Not only health, it also boosts your confidence and appearance. If the posture of the body is not correct, you can experience extra strain on your ligaments, joints and muscles. And over the period of time this will lead to severe back pain and fatigue. Bad posture is usually a precursor to other health problems. Acknowledge the fact that you need to correct your posture: This is first and the foremost step to correct your posture. Often time, people either don’t notice it or they don’t want to notice it. If you start to notice yourself slouching, you will make an attempt to correct your posture. Over a period of time, you will prevent yourself from going into a bad posture.

Exercise to build muscle strength – Most of us are too lazy to exercise. Even if we do, we are more into cardiovascular exercise rather than building muscle strength. One of the main reasons for bad postures is week muscles. You need to start working on building muscle strength by exercising. You can do yoga or pilates which are great ways to do that.

Head back and straight shoulders- One of the most common bad posture is the head forward and shoulders slumped. This posture is a by product of modern jobs which require people to sit in front of computer all day long. Ideally, your neck should be in line with your shoulder and head to support the weight of your head. Just pay attention to your head position and make a conscious effort to keep it straight aligned to your shoulders. And for shoulders, don’t let them slouch. As soon as you notice your shoulders slouching, pulls them straight.
